I’m having one of those days where it feels like I just fell of the turnip truck and I don’t even like turnip.
I have an idea–ok, quit laughing. I am sure somebody somewhere has expressed this idea, however, I haven’t heard it expressed. That, in and of itself, should probably tell me something about the quality of the idea. It’s way too simple to be executable.
Expressing it in the form of a question, it comes down to this:
Instead of rebuilding the entire healthcare system one bandaid at a time, why not build a program for uninsured like we do for elderly? Heck, why not add them to Medicare/Medicaid?
Has this been discussed somewhere?
My best – Paul

Paul: We need to improve the system we have and not throw it all out the window to start something new. The reasons: it is too late in the game and because the cost is too great. We do have a system for the poor and the elderly. What we don’t have is a system for non-citizens. And, the definition of who needs to be on Medi-caid may need to be addressed an broadened to address the uninsured population. To me, the non-citizens and uninsured are the priority for this discussion, not the whole system. Lets stay focused on what is important.
