Can an argument be made for a National browser-based EHR?

n6PdKiYWhhkxc9ypJgsdo554o1_400Of course it can.  Let us go forth from this time and place and let it be said it started here. Or not.  Five years from now you will buy a laptop for $100, the software will be free–it will pay for itself with ads.  Memory will be on-line, you will pay for apps.  Just like a camera and film, a cell phone and minutes.

The technology already exists for browser-based EHR.

What do you think?

Just say no to logic

  1. What do I think, you ask ? Okay, I’ll tell ya what I think…
I think you’re pretty much right about everything you said !

Now you’ve got me thinking about EHR ‘Plug-ins’ for different web browsers, downloads of X-rays and MRI scans, and maybe even cell phones that can read your blood pressure. Hmmm… there’s a world of possibilities, so which one will make me rich ? 🙂

You always have an interesting perspective, thanks Paul !

  2. I too agree! If we can do BANKING online…why not healthcare? Both require high levels of security, digital footprints and scalability with extremely high levels of reliability / accuracy. I just paid my bills online, made a few investments and balanced my checkbook via browser. Why not do the same for my patients?
