Something to consider…

Did you know that having an EHR is not required?

Since it’s not, wouldn’t it make sense to approach EHR like you would any other business problem?

  1. True, EHR is not currently required. That said, there are proposed penalties in 2015. What are your predictions on whether those penalties will change?

  2. My money is that the dates will all move backward of for no other reason than less than 10% of the hospitals have a prayer of meeting the dates, and of those, who knows how many will fail to qualify. After all, more than 50% of the implementations fail by one measure or another.
