Looking at the chart, I conclude that as our capability to heal continues to increase, usually via better and more costly technology, the number of people who will require that technology is too small to cover the marginal cost. Hospitals will not be able to deliver their lowest margin services–the ones used by the most people. This cycle, left unchecked, should force hospitals out of this business model.
This is correct, but what do you (want to) conclude out of this?
